David Webster
Director of the School of Supernatural Ministry

My name is David Webster. I want to invite you to join us on the Holy Spirit adventure we call the School of Supernatural ministry. I love adventure and pioneering, I love meeting new people, introducing them to Jesus and breaking new ground in the Spirit.

Much of the way God has directed my life has reflected this. I studied for a degree in theology in the context of Cultural and Community Studies at Sussex University and went on to teach Religious education for 11 years in a new secondary school. For a further three years I pioneered innovative curriculum projects linking teachers and business people as an education advisor - including one year seconded to a multinational pharmaceutical company.

In 1992 God called me and my family to plant a church in Gravesend in Kent. We pastored that church for thirteen years until it eventually merged with the present North Kent Community Church in 2005 (a church of over 300 adults and children).

I have the great privilege of being part of the eldership team led by Pete Carter at NKCC with special responsibility for outreach and evangelism. Contact with the Bethel church has encouraged us to pioneer a cultural and spiritual transformation in our church which we believe will advance the kingdom and usher in revival.

I direct both the evening and day time School of Supernatural Ministry at NKCC as well as preaching and teaching regularly in the church and more widely.

I have a passion for helping people develop intimacy with God, find their true identities and impact the world around them. I am married to Carol who teaches primary school and I have three grown up sons and one grandson. I enjoy films, novels, walks in the countryside, current affairs and anything that includes people and having fun – if you want to keep me happy take me to the local Indian for a curry!

Pete Carter
Senior Leader, North Kent Community Church

Hi, I'm Pete Carter and I hope that you want to join me on an adventure of faith. I lead the leadership team of NKCC, a privilege I have had for the past 21 years. I started leading the church in 1988 when it was a small group of about 25 adults and 10 young children; at that time I was a full time doctor working in General Practice. As the church grew it required more of my time, so in 1991 I went half time GP/half time church work, then in 1994 I left my GP partnership to work full time for the church, although I have continued to this day to fit some medical work around my schedule. I still love working as a doctor from time to time, love praying for the sick, and plan to develop a Healing Centre as part of the ministry of the church.

I have a fabulous wife, Kim, and this year will see our 30th wedding anniversary. We both love being active, although I am more competitive than Kim! Squash is my main sport at the moment, I enjoy most sports (playing and watching) and am mad about the Olympics (roll on London 2012). We have two great children; David and Kerry. David is 27, also a doctor, married to Jo, and they live near us and are part of NKCC. Kerry is 24, works as a Physiotherapist in London, and is part of a very lively church there.

I also like to travel and have had the privilege of working in many parts of the world (5 continents so far); at the moment my main involvement is in France where I lead a team developing a “Family of churches”, and after that Africa where we have some fantastic friends.

I enjoy good food, and wish that I had more time to develop my cooking skills. As for DIY – don’t ask!!

Kim Carter
Staff Pastor, School of Supernatural Ministry

Hi, so you want to find out a bit more about me.....

I have been married to Pete for 30 years and we have two awesome children, David, 27 and Kerry, 24. We also have a wonderful daughter-in law, Jo. Pete and I have been part of NKCC for 22 years, most of those in leadership.

I studied Biochemistry at university, graduated and married Pete.  I then worked in a hospital Biochemistry Laboratory for a couple of years before having the children.

Once Kerry was at School I took a post graduate qualification to qualify as a teacher, originally teaching Science to 11-16 year olds.  This really wasn't for me so I became an individual tutor for children with Special Needs in ordinary primary schools.  For the last 2 years I have been a Supply (replacement) teacher in Primary Schools as well as working privately as a Special Needs Tutor.

I love intimacy with God and have always wanted to show his love to the world around me. I helped develop the children’s work within the church for many years, have initiated many social events that have benefited both the church and the wider community, have served voluntarily in the community - I lead and facilitate a Parents and Toddler Group - my specialist age ranges from 0 – 90!! I guess I just like connecting with people.  Hospitality is one of my giftings. At present I am part of the Strategic Leadership of NKCC, am developing the School of Supernatural Ministry and work alongside Pete.  Two of our great joys are NKCC and working with a group of churches in France.  Although neither of us would preach in French, our French is good enough for social interaction and all French Team Meetings are conducted in French. Recently I have had opportunity to preach and teach in a number of different settings both locally and abroad. I am looking forward to doing this more.

I love walking in the countryside near our home, although mountains would be even better. I also like getting out on my bike, but I am a bit of a fair weather cyclist.  Pete and I are both confident swimmers and enjoy snorkeling –  on holiday we boldly swim off into the wild blue yonder. – the Red Sea is amazing!  I read novels and Christian biographies for relaxation.  Having read Pete’s profile, I too look forward to the day when he has more time to develop his cooking skills (which are already pretty good)!!!
