When Bill Johnson called for those who have injuries from accidents, I felt uncertain whether I should stand up or not. I thought it was not important because my accident happened 59 years ago, when I was a baby at crawling stage. I fell from a stairway of more than 20 steps. But when Bill mentioned of someone being healed from an accident decades ago, and the subsequent healings that occurred from that testimony, my faith was stirred. I have constant pain that would go on and off in my rib bone. I have accepted it as part of life. This bone would hurt for many days whenever I carry heavy things. The pain would sometimes spread to my back. At the time of the conference this rib bone was causing me tremendous pain.

A lovely English couple in front of me, and my youngest son next to me, prayed when we were told it was time to pray. During prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit come pouring His love on top of my head. Then I started to feel warm inside, especially in my chest. Something extraordinary started to work in my ribs. I felt something like fluid passing through my middle rib bone. It felt so delicately fine. (These happened two more times later that day.) Then I felt the Holy Spirit come pouring Himself a second time making me feel warm, not only in my chest but also in my spine and back. I felt my spine being straightened up. Then there was a second round of prayer where the couple forbid this infirmity to return. Then I heard the Lord say to me “You are healed”. The couple asked me whether I still had pain. But the pain was gone.

When I returned home (in the Netherlands) I checked myself and found that the rib bone which was protruding in my chest has been put in place. I could not feel it anymore. My lungs have more space because I could breathe deeper than normal. I could never do this before. I had a tendency to walk a bit bended before because I had not enough support in my back. But since God straightened my spine, it feels like my back is supported by a strong wall. I have not ceased thanking Him since that day He healed me. This wonderful healing miracle came by surprise and it is a most precious gift.

I understood later that God has done a major thing because this deformity is as old as I am. I also understood that He delivered me from a spirit of injury which had a debilitating effect on my body.
