During May we will look in more detail at how we develop the Teaching and Pastoral aspects of the culture of NKCC.

Good teaching is not about good speaking or preaching, but rather about creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn. We will look at how we can create such an environment, taking into account different learning styles and techniques. We want to move further away from a “one size fits all” approach to learning, and develop a culture which will serve people from all backgrounds well.

Pastoral ministry is primarily about creating a community (family) where people have a sense of belonging, value and significance. It is an environment of love, encouragement, and support, where everyone plays their part in building one another up. We will look at how we develop the infrastructure of NKCC so that this area of church life is strong.

To do this we will teach about these things on Sundays, discuss in small groups, recommend resource material, and have some specific meetings to start to gather people with a particular passion in these two, very important areas of church life.
