NKCC Forums

The NKCC Forums provide a secure way in which NKCC members and those associated with the church can take part in online discussions and gain access to information such as audio downloads, homegroup follow-up notes and the church 'Notice Board'. At present they're not for general public use. If you are an NKCC member or have a connection with NKCC please register for an account (see the information below).

The quickest way to go to the forums is to enter 'forums.nkcc.org.uk' in your browser - if you go there often you might want to create a bookmark that takes you straight there. Clicking on the link below will also take you to the forums in a new window. If you don't yet have an account please read the information below before continuing.

How to use the forums:

The following information describes how to register and gain access to the forums. Clicking on the link to the forums above or below will take you to the forums in a new browser window so that you can still see these instructions.

Registering
Before you can use the forums you need to register a username. You do this by clicking on the register link on the main forum page (you must agree to the NKCC Forums terms that will be displayed in order to register). Fill out the form and click submit (the items at the top of the registration form marked with asterisks are mandatory but you can fill out as much or as little of the rest of the form as you wish). Your 'Username' can be anything you want and is the name you will use to log in. Your 'Real name' is just that - your real name, including your surname.
You will receive an email confirming your username and password and another email when your account has been activated - so make sure you enter your email address correctly on the form.

Logging in
Go to the main Forums page (you can use the link below or you can enter the address 'forums.nkcc.org.uk' in your browser). Click on the 'Log in' link and enter your username and password (remember to enter the username you registered, not your real name).

Accessing
forums
Once logged in you will see the available forums, some of which are open to all registered users and some which are restricted. You can use the unrestricted forums straight away. If you need to use any of the restricted forums you will have request access to them. See the information below about joining groups.

Joining groups
Access to a restricted forum is available to members of that forum's usergroup. To gain access to a restricted forum you must request membership of its usergroup. Forums are restricted for good reasons and it's up to the group's 'moderator' as to who is and who isn't granted access.
To request access to a restricted forum's usergroup click on the Usergroups link at the top of the page which will display a page showing available groups. Select the group you wish to join, click the View Information button and then click the Join Group button. Repeat the process to request access to more groups. If the moderator approves your request you will receive an email confirming this.
Clicking on the usergroups link will also show the groups you currently belong to. If you want to leave a group select that group, click the View Information button and click Unsubscribe.

New forums
If you want additional forums please ask. It's much better to create new forums for new subjects than to use existing forums to discuss topics unrelated to their intended content. See 'Getting help' below for information about how to contact the forum administrator.

Getting help
Firstly, have a look at the FAQ (frequently asked questions) link at the top of any page in the forums. If this doesn't answer your question you could post your question in the 'Using the Forums' forum. Or you could ask for help from the forum administrator or someone else you think might be able to help. The easiest way to contact someone directly is to click on the 'Memberlist' link, select the person you want and then use either the 'Private message' or 'E-mail' buttons. Finally, you could also use the Contact page on this website.
